Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was an athlete of natural talent and was a fan of tough athletic games. Her passion was coupled with the natural ability to perform. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and the stage that her country had to offer. As a teenager she was accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her fascination with classical theater and operatic music was continued. However, this plan was later modified, however, when Charles Laughton, after seeing screenings of Maureen and was mesmerized by her beautiful, captivating eyes. In the days before she was cast to play for the role in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton as well as his co-star Erich Pommer, changed her name changed from Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" which is a less slender name to be used for the marquee. Maureen was contracted by Laughton to make her next film in America at RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre The Dame 1939). This epic movie was a massive hit and Maureen's contract eventually taken over off Laughton through RKO. At 19, Maureen had already been in two major motion pictures in the company of Laughton.
