
Jennifer has always wanted to be a multi-tasking superstar. While she was a kid Jennifer was a fan of many different music styles, but she particularly loved Afro-Caribbean music like merengue, salsa, and bachata. She also loved mainstream music like hip-hop as well as R&B. Though she loved music, the film industry was also a fascination for her. West Side Story, a musical composed by Rita Moreno (1961), was her biggest inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Apart from becoming a budding performer Jennifer is also a Catholic schoolgirl, attending eight years of a Catholic elementary school called Holy Family which is located in The Bronx, before graduating from an all girls prep school, Preston High School after a four-year stay. Jennifer performed well in the sports department at school and participated in track and field and tennis. Her entire life was upbringing in a two-story house located in the Castle Hill neighborhood. When she was 18, Jennifer moved out of her parent's home. At this point, Lopez worked at a legal firm. She also took dancing gigs at night.
